Dear Jim,
"We moved to Vermont four years ago from Manhattan - a real city family! Our twin boys, then 5, had never seen a pair of skates and my wife, pregnant with our daughter, and I had not been on skates for years. It only seemed natural that we choose something representative of our new home, Vermont. Thus, the boys put on their first skates at 6, played their first organized game at 7 and now at the age of 8 look forward to playing with their friends on the local mite squad. Along the way, prodded by my wife now a hockey mom, I joined a men's league after learning how to skate again after two decades, and scored my first goal ever this year at the ripe age of 40."

"This year's rink has been my best effort to date. I started in August and excavated the yard to achieve a level surface, I bored a water line under my driveway and installed a frost free water hydrant as close to the rink as possible. I had a light pole installed and now have two 400 watt and one 1,000 watt light situated 30-35 feet above the ice.
The hot house has a propane heater and is wired for lights and power. My daughter plays a compilation of her friends music from a portable boom box. My oldest son Ryan plays for the Kenowa Hills Pee Wee Hockey team and the hot house is painted in the team colors, blue and gold. I help coach both my sons' hockey teams and on most nights we have one team or the other over for fun and practice."

"We have had hundreds of compliments from our friends and family."   Craig-Medicine Hat, AB
